Easter Island
Chile
The island of Rapa Nui (Easter Island) is located 2,200 miles off the Chilean coast, making it one of the most remote places on the planet. Very little is known about these massive stone carvings, the people, or culture who built them.
More than 900 moai statues have been discovered on the island. They command a presence; the tallest statue is over 33 feet high and weights over 80 tons.
We spent two nights and three days exploring the island, having more questions than answers.
